I have worked for 2 year in the highways and infrastructure sector. I received a first class BEng degree in Civil Engineering specialising in geotechnical engineering. My father and extended family live in Marrakech and I currently work in the UK, I am open to living anywhere in Morocco and, I can speak Derija and some classical Arabic as well 

04/01/2022 - Present; Graduate Highways Engineer, Milestone Infrastructure.

Carrying out a multitude of tasks primarily for the following contracts and clients;

Oxfordshire County Council
Cambridgeshire County Council
Direct services Plus M25 maintenance contract.
North Somerset County Council
Hampshire County Council and Section 106 private developers.

My responsibilities include;

Producing drawings and details using Auto-CAD software.

Calculating bills of quantities in accordance with the Manual of Contract Documents for Highway Works (MCHW).

Following the Traffic Signs Regulation and General Directions Manual (TSRGD) to design road marking and traffic signs layout for local district Council offices.

Adhering to relevant chapters of the Traffic Signs Manual (TSM) to design roadsigns to correct dimensions and positioning. Done primarily through the use of Key-signs and Sign Load Professional software packages to create sign details with foundation designs.

Using vehicle tracking software to assess the suitability of new highway layouts and ensure adequate safety clearances for various lengths and types of vehicles.

Attending workshops with local stakeholders such as business owners and universities to present latest designs and receive feedback and suggestions for improvements as well as explain decisions made.

Liaising with clients, contractors and other consultants throughout projects to advise on and record changes to ensure continuity between different parties involved.

Production of construction documentation for various schemes as such risk assessments based around multiple site specific hazards, environmental checklists to research and record enviromental hazards like listed buildings or protected areas and in accordance with CDM health, safety and enviromental regulations and relay any findings to the environmental specialist team.

Creating patch repair schedules and mapping out design drawings for surface dressing schemes. Following site notes to specify scheme extents, materials, ironwork and kerbing works
as well as identifying and highlighting any potential safety hazards along the scope of works.

Interpretation of CCTV drainage survey reports, jet cleaning reports, as-built pump and drainage designs as well as and statutory undertakers C2 return drawings to identify, locate and present drainage utilities. Collating this information with site visits carried out to identify issues surrounding drainage and present potential solutions to clients in feasibility plans.

Carrying out research on new developments and ditch/pumping station networks surrounding areas of poor drainage to assess the affect on the landscape and any increase in hard standing surface that may add to run-off. Interpretation of historical private development drainage plans and historical mapping to incorporate old drainage pipes and gullies into newly developed networks.

Liaising with members of the public about their concerns surrounding drainage issues, noting their concerns and any useful information provided to help improve drainage strategies around the worst affected properties.

Use of micro drainage and 3D modelling software to design new road and utility layouts.  

Resourceful and diligent first class Civil Engineering graduate student who has undertaken relevant employment and experience in practical and office roles. Eager to develop further a career in the infrastructure industry, with a keen interest in, and highest marks in transportation engineering, water infrastructure and geotechnical aspects, an educated candidate holding a driving licence and car, living in the UK but happy to relocate upon request.
